DDR4 Memory for Your New 27-inch iMac

Last week, Apple released a new generation of iMacs that run with DDR4 2400MHz Memory. We have thoroughly tested all Ramjet memory on this latest machine. You can upgrade your new iMac with 64GB of RAM from Apple for an extra $1400 or could get ours for less than half the price at $619.99. You Decide.

Popular DDR4 RAM Configurations for the New iMac

Max out your entire system by adding four (4) 16GB DDR4 modules in your new iMac. Or you buy a matched pair that works alongside the two modules that are standard with your machine, increasing your total memory size to 40GB.
If you're on a budget, go with a matched pair of 8GB DDR4 modules, increasing your total system memory to 24GB. And for less than $100, add a match pair of 4GB DDR4 modules and increase your total system memory to 16GB.

The Ramjet Rugged Pro External SSD

Not sure how to upgrade your old Mac with a blazing fast SSD? No problem, just plug our external SSD into one of your USB 3.0 ports and you're on your way.

How to Boot Your Same System from an External SSD

Before you get started, be sure to make an external backup of your current Macintosh HD. If you have an extra hard drive lying around, you can easily plug it into one of our affordable docking stations for just $49.99.

Step 1 - Plug your new External SSD into one of your free USB 3.0 ports.
Step 2 - Download free cloning software onto your iMac.

Step 3 - Copy your Macintosh HD (internal hard drive) to your new External SSD. Be sure to select "Backup - all files" as that will ensure that you create a bootable clone. This may take a few hours to complete so be prepared not to use your iMac during this time.
Step 4 - Reboot your iMac like you normally would but when you see the Apple icon, hold down the Alt key until it provides you an option to boot from your SSD. Select your new SSD and if everything looks good but just faster, pat yourself on the back.

Set Your New External SSD to Be Your Default

If you are loving your new-old iMac, then you can also set it to boot from this drive as a default. Simply go to System Preferences - Startup Disk and select your new SSD to be the system to start your computer.
